My vocal ability is far from the likes of the stereotypical booming, bassy voice that the average radio listener has come to expect.
That has never stopped me from trying to utilize it to entertain whoever was within listening distance.
As a young boy exploring the wonders of Sea World, I heard the iconic guitar lick of my then favorite, thanks to my uncle, song, "Sweet Home Alabama." What happened next was the result of pure instinct.
I found the nearest rock ledge of landscaping and hopped up on it. Grabbing my imaginary microphone I belted out every lyric to the song, creating a mini-concert beside the freshly squeezed lemonade stand.
That was the only the beginning of what was yet to come. And no, singing was most certainly not in my future.
